#IowaState Agricultural Communicators of Tomorrow join fellow students at national conference.

2016 Mar 11

Iowa State's Agricultural Communicators of Tomorrow Club sent eight #ISUCALS students to the National Agricultural Communicators of Tomorrow Conference in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Dr. Kathleen Hunt, adviser in the agriculture and studies department, accompanied students during the conference.

Cameron Jodlowski, an Illinois native, traveled with club members to Oklahoma in January. The professional development conference provided Agricultural Communicators of Tomorrow (ACT) members with the opportunity for professional growth and networking with leaders in the agricultural communications field.

Jodlowski, agriculture and life sciences education - communications major, had the opportunity to participate in a workshop on crisis communication led by Daren Williams. Mr. Williams currently serves as a public relations specialist for the National Cattlemen's Beef Association. Additionally, students had the opportunity to meet an Oklahoma State alumni member panel and donate time to community service projects in the Stillwater area.

This is the first time Iowa State's Agricultural Communicators of Tomorrow (ACT) Club has sent students to a national conference. The National Agricultural Communicators of Tomorrow Organization provides opportunities for state chapters throughout the year to increase involvement, professional growth opportunities for members, and encourages networking among future industry professionals.
