Adam Willman, a student in Agronomy from Marshalltown, IA attended the Student Global AIDS Campaign's annual conference at Harvard University.

Willman is one of three Iowa State University student representatives who participated in educational sessions on topics such as global aid and development, intellectual property rights, power structures in politics and how to execute a well-planned social action campaign. Over the course of the event, different communication strategies to engage politicians in the HIV/AIDS pandemic were discussed.

Willman and the Iowa State representatives will be able to apply lessons learned in their efforts to generate awareness of issues locally. Strategies and methods specific to the Iowa State Global Health and AIDS Coalition chapter were discussed in order to open effective communication channels with the local Iowa officials. The representatives look forward to engaging with and educating the Iowa State and Ames community on these important issues in the future.
