Alexander Paul receives special recognition at College of Agriculture and Life Sciences Fall Convocation event

2016 Dec 12

Alexander Paul, graduating with a degree in Animal Science from Iowa State University, was given the distinguished service award. This award is bestowed upon a student who has shown a commitment to community service on and off campus while at Iowa State.

Alex is passionate about helping his community, state, and nation. He has committed to hundreds of hours of training and service responding to fire and medical calls as a volunteer firefighter and EMT, including a fire at the ISU Dairy Farm last summer.

Trey Forsyth, 2016 CALS Council President, calls Alex’s work inspiring. “[Alex] takes his homework to basically live at the station while he is on duty, working as a volunteer for the experience and knowledge. That is what I call dedication to service.”

Awards are given by the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (CALS) Student Council and presented at the college convocation event December 17, 2016 beginning at 9:30 am in CY Stephens Auditorium.
