Allie Ferguson receives special recognition at College of Agriculture and Life Sciences Spring Convocation event.

Allie Ferguson, graduating with a degree in agronomy from Iowa State University, was named the outstanding ambassador of agriculture. This award is given to a student showing exceptional effort in building a connection between the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences and the community.

During her time at Iowa State, Ferguson has been chair of College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (CALS) Career Day; a team leader for Women in Agronomy, and is First Vice President of Sigma Alpha. She has also been involved with CALS Ambassadors, Iowa State Bacon Expo, Block and Bridle, Iowa Corn Growers Association and Agriculture Entrepreneurship Initiative. In addition, she studied abroad through a college program in Costa Rica.

Trey Forsyth, 2016 president of CALS Council, said Ferguson, “has a wide array of practical and extra-curricular activities demonstrating her dedication to making agriculture accessible, making her an ambassador of agriculture in every way.”

Awards are given by the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences Student Council and presented at the college convocation event May 7, 2016 beginning at 8:30 am in Hilton Coliseum.
