Anne Seely recognized as outstanding graduate at Iowa State University College of Human Sciences fall convocation ceremony

The Iowa State University College of Human Sciences will recognize the accomplishments of approximately 150 graduating students in a series of events on Dec. 18 and 19.

Anne Seely of St. Charles is the final student receiving the Dean's Recognition Award. She is graduating magna cum laude with a bachelor's degree in culinary science and minors in English and anthropology. Seely managed the food science and human nutrition kitchen laboratory storeroom at Iowa State and interned with the Schwan Food Company for two years. She earned several prestigious scholarships including the L. Mildred Wilson Award and the Diane R. McComber Award. Seely's active community service outlets include Wildwood Hills Ranch youth camp, Food at First food pantry, ACCESS domestic violence shelter, and Meals from the Heartland. She will begin her master's in food science at Iowa State in the fall.

Seely will be recognized for her achievements at the college's convocation celebration at 3 p.m. Dec. 18 at C.Y. Stephens Auditorium on the Iowa State University campus. Iowa State University's fall commencement ceremony will be held at 1:30 p.m. Dec. 19 at Hilton Coliseum.
