Bridget McFarland receives special recognition at College of Agriculture and Life Sciences Spring Convocation.

Bridget McFarland, graduating with a degree in Agronomy from Iowa State University, was given the leadership excellence award. This award is given to a graduating senior based on involvement within clubs and organizations while at Iowa State.

In her time at Iowa State, Bridget has studied abroad multiple times; worked on a USDA-ARS plant breeding project and traveled to conferences presenting the findings; served as a teaching assistant; and held leadership positions in the CALS Ambassadors,, Dance Marathon and Sigma Alpha.

Edan Lambert, president of CALS Council, calls Bridget the “epitome of a leader. She immersed herself in a variety of roles representing a variety of experiences and groups around campus and across the country in her chosen area of study. In each, she has been successful and has gained the skills to be successful in any area of the agricultural industry here or around the world.”

Awards are given by the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (CALS) Student Council with winners receiving recognition at both a senior reception and the college convocation event May 6, 2017 beginning at 8:30 am in Hilton Coliseum.
