2017 Aug 7

Catherine Isley, majoring in agricultural business, served as a representative of the Agricultural Business Club at the Agricultural & Applied Economics Association (AAEA) 2017 annual meeting in Chicago, IL.

While at the meeting, Isley was a member of the quiz bowl team who placed 3rd out of 30 teams competing. This competition features teams of 3 students representing their school and tests basic knowledge of agricultural economics.

Additionally, the club was named Outstanding Club for 2017. This competition is a reflection of the past year's work by the club. Chapters are judged on goals and objectives, membership recruitment, the activities of the chapter, and insights into improvements made throughout the year.

This is the 13th time in 15 years that the club has won one or both of the organizations' two highest awards, Outstanding Club or Creative Club, which based on implementation of a unique idea for members.

Joining the students at the meeting and serving adviser of the club was Dr. Georgeanne Artz.
