Cook goes global in Costa Rica

2015 Jun 5

Alexis Cook, majoring in Horticulture at #IowaState, traveled to Costa Rica with the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences Study Abroad office for a spring break program.

This program is an introduction to production of a wide variety of tropical crops (coffee, banana, pineapple, mango, sugar cane, cut flowers, vegetables, papaya, etc.) from the perspective of Costa Rica. The class also explores Costa Rican ecology, history, and culture through close collaboration with the faculty at University of Costa Rica.

See photos of this and the other programs through the college by searching #CALSglobal on social media.

The Agriculture Study Abroad Office in the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences offers high quality international opportunities to students on all seven continents in a variety of programs open to all students in the college. Programs range in length and intensity of curriculum, and may be led by faculty or through an exchange program.
