Corey member of 6th place Iowa State Soils Team

2018 Mar 30

Hannah Corey and the Iowa State University Soils team placed sixth at the National Soils Contest held March 18-23, 2018, hosted by the University of Tennessee at Martin.

Individual placings of Iowa State Agronomy students as well as the group team judging scores contributed to the overall sixth place finish out of 22 total teams.

During the contest, students identify, evaluate, classify, and describe soil profiles. In the individual competition, students evaluate three pits and in the team judging, two are evaluated by the group. Scores in each area are combined to calculate an overall score.

Amber Anderson, an Iowa State agronomy lecturer, and John Jones, graduate student in agronomy, coach the Iowa State Soils Team.
