Garrett Ley receives $10,000 agriculture entrepreneurship scholarship.

Garrett Ley, an Agricultural Business student from Alleman, IA, has been awarded the Murray Wise Associates Agriculture Entrepreneurship Scholarship for his business aptitude and involvement in the Iowa State University Agricultural Entrepreneurship Initiative's programs.

From an early age Ley was always interested in entrepreneurship and took part in several business ventures throughout middle school and high school. In 2013, Ley started working part-time for Snappy Popcorn which sparked his interest for product development. Now he runs his own popcorn business, Garrett's Gourmet Popcorn, where he produces and sells gourmet flavored popcorn. He also offers private labels for weddings and events. Ley recognizes that the Agricultural Entrepreneurship Initiative's program have contributed to his success as an entrepreneur. Through the program he has attended several Farmer Roundtable events, Entrepreneurship around Iowa tours, and has been an active member of the National Agri-Marketing Association (NAMA) club.
