Hannah Darr receives special recognition at College of Agriculture and Life Sciences Spring Convocation event.

2016 Apr 29

Hannah Darr, graduating with a degree in global resource systems from Iowa State University, was given the distinguished service award. This award is bestowed upon a student who has shown a commitment to community service on and off campus while at ISU.

At Iowa State, Darr was named Service Woman of the Year by the ISU Collegiate Panhellenic Council and served on Freshman Council. She was chair of Iowa State Bacon Expo, served on the Melon Mania team raising money for nutrition education centers in Uganda, and is a member of Cardinal Key Honor Society. In addition, she studied abroad through college programs to Uganda and Peru.

Dr. John T MacDonald, faculty member in global resource systems, said “this award is a fitting recognition of Darr’s many service accomplishments, which include being named an Association for International Agriculture and Rural Development Future Leader Fellow – a national award rare among undergraduate students.”

Awards are given by the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences Student Council and presented at the college convocation event May 7, 2016 beginning at 8:30 am in Hilton Coliseum.
