2018 Apr 20

Izak Christensen, graduating with a degree in agricultural business and agronomy from Iowa State University, received the award for Academic Achievement from the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (CALS) Student Council. This award recognizes a student for their cumulative GPA, scholarships received, Honors received at ISU, as well as the number of semesters on the Dean's List.

Christensen will graduate with a degree in agricultural business, double major in agronomy, and an MBA degree. In addition to his rigorous academic schedule, he has served two terms on the executive team of the Agricultural Business Club, served on CALS Council and been a member of the Agricultural Entrepreneurship Initiative Student Advisory Board. For his academic achievements, Christensen is a member of several honor societies including Cardinal Key Honor Society, Gamma Sigma Delta and the National Society of Collegiate Scholars.

“Izak is most certainly one of the most ambitious students academically in our program recently,” said his academic adviser Amy Brandau. “He has consistently found ways to challenge himself and grow during his time at ISU,” she continued, “and is willing to share his time and knowledge to help other students learn during their time at Iowa State.”

Award recipients will be recognized at the college convocation event May 4, 2018 beginning at 10:00 am in Hilton Coliseum. Presenting the award on behalf of council will be the 2018 CALS Council President, Alex Brand, and Vice President, Wes Reever.
