Jack Viverito of Bartlett travels to Tennessee to build, improve houses as part of Iowa State's American General Contractors Spring Break Service Trip

The Iowa State division of the American General Contractors organization traveled to Johnson City, Tennessee during spring break to help with poverty relief. The group worked with the Appalachian Service Project to perform flooring and roofing repair and build two new houses.

Students who went on the trip said it was a life-changing experience and helped them to have their eyes opened. They also believe it was beneficial to be able to apply their knowledge that they have been learning in the classroom to the real-world, starting with the housing foundation and completing the house four days later.
