Joni Erwin receives special recognition at College of Agriculture and Life Sciences Spring Convocation.

Joni Erwin, graduating with a degree in Agricultural Business from Iowa State University, was named the outstanding ambassador of agriculture. This award is given to a student showing exceptional effort in building a connection between the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences and the community.

Joni has served as a Peer Mentor in the agriculture business learning community; held multiple leadership roles, including president, in the Agriculture Business Club; been a member of the CALS Ambassadors; and served on the Agriculture Entrepreneurship Initiative Student Leadership Team.

“At the center of everything Joni has done in her Iowa State career is her love of agriculture,” said CALS Council President Edan Lambert. “Particularly her work organizing a professional mentorship program in the Agriculture Business Club show her dedication to the promotion of the industry and the importance she placed on making students aware of the variety of opportunities that can be found.”

Awards are given by the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (CALS) Student Council with winners receiving recognition at both a senior reception and the college convocation event May 6, 2017 beginning at 8:30 am in Hilton Coliseum.
