Katrina Pedrick of Slinger, WI (53086), received recognition for a 90-second business pitch at the College of Human Sciences pitch-off contest on Feb. 27, 2018. Pedrick was a runner up with her "Who New" business idea, which proposes a sustainable way to reduce waste in the fashion industry by creating original clothing from recycled fabrics. Pedrick is studying apparel, merchandising, and design at Iowa State.
This year's pitch-off contest, sponsored by the Pappajohn Center for Entrepreneurship, marks the first-ever pitch event taking place throughout all seven colleges at Iowa State University. Contestants delivered a 90-second pitch to present and sell their entrepreneurial and innovative idea for either a new business concept, a new product or service idea, or a social entrepreneurship venture. First place contestants will advance to the spring ISU Innovation Pitch contest on March 6, 2018.
