Kelsey Faivre, of Dekalb, IL, majoring in Agricultural and Life Sciences Education at #IowaState, successfully completed Fall 2014 as a member of the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (CALS) Ambassadors. This highly selective group of students plays a pivotal role in the recruitment activities of the college.

Members of this group, open to all students in the college, are required to log at least 20 hours of volunteering each semester and maintain attendance and participation requirements. Ambassadors serve actively on one of seven committees, each tasked with specific duties related to the purposes of recruitment and engagement within the college.

Faivre served as a member of the Youth Organizations Committee, tasked with organizing the logistics for and working at youth events related to the college such as 4-H conferences and State FFA Convention. Planning is currently in full force for spring semester events.

Over the course of fall 2014, the Ambassadors saw 745 prospective students on campus and logged 1,460 volunteer hours.

Governing the Ambassadors is a leadership team who is made up of committee chairs, a representative from each committee, and elected officers which includes a chairperson, vice-chair, and secretary. The CALS Ambassadors are advised by Beth Foreman, Student Services, College of Agriculture and Life Sciences.
