Kelsie Leathers named Louise Rosenfeld Undergraduate Research Intern

Kelsie Leathers, a student studying apparel, merchandising, and design, has been selected into the Louise Rosenfeld Undergraduate Research Internship Program in the Iowa State University College of Human Sciences.

Leathers, from Ames, IA, will work with Ellen McKinney, an assistant professor of apparel, merchandising, and design, this fall to improve protective gear for female firefighters. Leathers is one of 12 students to receive this prestigous honor for the upcoming summer or fall.

The Louise Rosenfeld Undergraduate Research Internship Program is designed to provide research experience to undergraduate students in the College of Human Sciences while they contemplate the possibility of study towards an advanced degree. The program offers interns exceptional opportunities such as working with faculty and learning how to conduct research in their academic fields.
