2016 Apr 21

During the competition Minock, who is a Food Science Major, competed in a trivia contest based on the history of foods and food processing, food law, and general food trivia.

#IowaState placed third at the North-Central Region Competition this spring. This third place win serves as a stepping stone for the team as they continue to grow, become involved in regional and national competitions, and test their skills and knowledge. The team was coached by Dr. Angela Shaw and Kate Gilbert.

The IFTSA College Bowl competition was created in 1985 as a tool to help students meet their peers from universities around the nation, share facts and knowledge, as well as to create an environment of friendly competition. Teams made up of undergraduate and graduate students compete at the region, with the winning team advancing to competition at the national meeting. Since its creation, the college bowl competition has become one of the hallmark events of both regional and national meetings.

IFTSA is part of the premire professional organization for food science. The organization provides networking opportunities and information on the latest trends.
