Nina Streauslin recognized as 2015 Iowa State University College of Human Sciences Student Sensation

Nina Streauslin of Dubuque, Iowa , has been named a College of Human Sciences Student Sensation at Iowa State University. Streauslin is a junior studying dietetics. The College of Human Sciences recognizes 15 young adults as the 2015 Student Sensations for their contributions to expanding human potential and improving people's lives.

Streauslin is committed to helping others eat right and stay healthy. As a Rising Star intern for Iowa State University Extension and Outreach, she worked with Iowans of all ages to improve their nutrition, reduce the risk of obesity, and raise awareness of local foods in southern Iowa. She has volunteered to coordinate meals at a retirement center, a homeless shelter, the campus food pantry, and Campus Kitchens, a St. Louis program for urban children. Streauslin belongs to the Student Dietetics Association, she is a Food Science and Human Nutrition student ambassador, and she has served as a teaching assistant for the Introduction to Nutrition course.
