2017 Nov 8

Oluwakorede Olugbenle, majoring in Agronomy, was among the 10 Iowa State students attending the Region 5 Minorities in Agriculture, Natural Resources and Related Sciences (MANRRS) conference in West Lafayette, IN.

The meeting of 120 attendees featured an opportunity fair and mock interviews, student competitions, an alumni mixer, and professional and leadership development for both students and professionals in attendance.

MANRRS, a national society welcoming membership of all racial and ethnic groups in agricultural and related science careers, is made of six regions with a national leadership team for the professional, undergraduate and graduate levels. Joining the MANRRS chapter at Iowa State in Region 5 are seven other active universities. Through regional and national meetings, attendees are given strategies and techniques to help them gain leadership skills to be prepared for a thriving future in the agricultural, natural resources and related sciences.
