Shayne Wiese receives special recognition at College of Agriculture and Life Sciences Spring Convocation.

Shayne Wiese, graduating with a degree in Animal Science from Iowa State University, was named agricultural man of the year. This award recognizes the work of an individual male and female as a champions for agriculture..

At Iowa State Shayne has been a member of the Livestock Judging Team; served in leadership positions in Alpha Gamma Rho fraternity; held membership in CALS Council, CALS Ambassadors, Block & Bridle Club, and several honor societies.

"Shayne has committed himself to the promotion of agriculture in his time at Iowa State," said Edan Lambert, CALS Council president. "He has striven to promote Iowa State and CALS in a positive light through both academics and service, wherever he goes."

Awards are given by the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (CALS) Student Council with winners receiving recognition at both a senior reception and the college convocation event May 6, 2017 beginning at 8:30 am in Hilton Coliseum.
