Shelby Fields receives special recognition at College of Agriculture and Life Sciences Fall Convocation event

2016 Dec 12

Shelby Fields, graduating with a degree in Animal Science from Iowa State University, was given the leadership excellence award. This award is given to a graduating senior based on involvement within clubs and organizations while at Iowa State.

In her time at Iowa State, Shelby has been active in Block and Bridle, serving as club representative to CALS Council as well as helping organize some of the club's largest events. Additionally, she has had many internships in her chosen industry.

“As a transfer student, Shelby wasted no time getting involved in her Iowa State adventure,” said Trey Forsyth, 2016 CALS Council President. “Through her activities, she has striven to give back to the university and make the most of experiences like the career fair, study abroad, and club activities by seeking out leadership opportunities.”

Awards are given by the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences (CALS) Student Council and presented at the college convocation event December 17, 2016 beginning at 9:30 am in CY Stephens Auditorium.
