Tim Lott earns first place in Iowa State University signature ice cream contest

2017 Dec 19

Tim Lott of Pearl City, IL, is on a team that earned first place in an Iowa State University signature ice cream contest.

Lott is studying Food Science at Iowa State. As part of Team PB Crisp, Lott created Cyscream, which is a rich, peanut butter ice cream in honor of famous Iowa Stater George Washington Carver, with a fudge swirl that suggests a Cyclone, and chocolate-covered rice crisps. The team finished in first place.

The contest was open to all Iowa State University students. Judging was based on the flavor, the ice cream name, representation of the Iowa State theme, product feasibility, and the effectiveness of the team's promotional video.

The winning product, Cyscream, will be featured at special Iowa State events.

The contest was sponsored by Iowa State's Department of Food Science and Human Nutrition, Wells Enterprises, and ISU Dining. The winning product is owned and produced by Iowa State's Department of Food Science and Human Nutrition.
